Annual Conference: Join us at the Consortium’s First Annual Conference – The Future Is Now: Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training, being held in Denver CO on Monday June 25, 2018, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Check out the agenda.
The morning will have thoughtful, provocative, and cutting edge commentary by national leaders in postgraduate nurse practitioner training, workforce development, interprofessional education and practice, and the national landscape of health care for the underserved. Dr. Margaret Flinter, founder of the postgraduate nurse practitioner training movement in primary care, will open with the keynote. Plenary speakers will be Dr. Barbara Brandt, Director of the National Center for Interprofessional Education and Training; Dr. Luis Padilla, Associate Administrator for Health Workforce at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and Director of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC); and Mr. Craig Kennedy, Executive Director of the Association for Clinicians for the Underserved.
The afternoon will begin with a research panel focusing on current findings about evidence-based training presented by Dr. Amy Barton, Professor and Associate Dean with the University of Colorado-Denver; Dr. Ann Marie Hart, Professor with the University of Wyoming; and Dr. Kathryn Wirtz-Rugen, Associate Professor with the University of Illinois-Chicago and National Nurse Practitioner Consultant for the US Department of Veterans Affairs Centers of Excellence in Primary Care. This will be followed by a series of pragmatic breakout sessions designed to explore and apply the ideas and concepts presented in the preceding sessions.
The conference venue is the terrace floor of The History Colorado Center, 1200 Broadway, Denver, CO, 80203.
