The National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI) recommended that the National Nurse Practitioner Residency & Fellowship Training Consortium be granted initial recognition for a period of five years for Federal recognition as an accrediting agency.
On February 27, 2020 the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI), U.S. Department of Education also known as “NACIQI” heard the National Nurse Practitioner Residency & Fellowship Training Consortium’s (“the consortium’s”) petition for Federal Recognition as an Accrediting Agency by the United States Department of Education.
The consortium has been engaged for several years now in seeking federal recognition and a tremendous amount of time and effort has been devoted to it. Kerry Bamrick, the consortium’s Executive Director along with DoQuyen Huynh, Accreditation Commission Chair, Margaret Flinter, Board of Directors Chairperson, Mark Masselli, President/CEO of the Community Health Center, Inc. and Attorney Lucien Capone had an opportunity to present to the 18 member NACIQI board and answer questions.
The NACIQI members voted and unanimously recommended approval of the Consortium for Federal Recognition. The United States Department of Education analysts charged with reviewing the petition also recommended the Consortium for federal Recognition.
The United States Secretary of Education will make a final determination by May 27, 2020.
