My name is Olive Provencio-Johnson, and I am thrilled to be the new Program Specialist for the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Consortium.
My mission is two-fold: to help programs new to the Consortium navigate the accreditation process and to support programs that have already started the journey.
I’m originally from Austin, Texas, moving to Seattle, Wash., eight years ago to help manage AmeriCorps’ Community HealthCorps, a national service program, at Sea Mar Community Health Centers.
For the past 4½ years, I worked at International Community Health Services, an innovative FQHC, also in Seattle, that serves an extraordinarily diverse clientele. As Medical Services Administrator for its Postgraduate Nurse Practitioner Residency Training Program, I was deeply involved in managing the program’s ANE-NPR grant from HRSA.
The experience gave me strong insight into how Nurse Practitioner programs function and into the accreditation process through the NNPRFTC. It also further expanded my interest in, and commitment to, the movement to help support and train the next generation of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioner clinicians. The movement couldn’t be more timely!
When I’m not working, you can find me hanging out with my dog, trying out a new recipe, or practicing my roller-skating skills.
