The National Academies Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education will host a virtual public pre-workshop on the “Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL),” a method of instruction focused on faculty teaching practices and student learning outcomes, in health professions education (HPE). Speakers will lay a foundation for a shared understanding of the SOTL and its unique impact on HPE.
Registrants are encouraged to view the pre-workshop introductory video on the event webpage in advance of the pre-workshop.
A full hybrid public workshop, October 23-24, will follow. Speakers will explore evidence-based teaching and learning methods for new and innovative educational designs and how applying it to HPE may enhance the quality and impact of teaching across the education-to-practice continuum.
