The National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Consortium (NNPRFTC) is pleased to announce the accreditation of another postgraduate Nurse Practitioner residency: the Sea Mar Community Health Center’s (Sea Mar) Family Nurse Practitioner Residency headquartered in Seattle WA. Sea Mar was awarded programmatic accreditation for the full 3-year period. The current trainees will be considered to have completed an accredited program.
Sea Mar Community Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that was established in 1973. Sea Mar has over 50 clinics in western WA and serves over 200,000 patients, with a special focus on meeting the healthcare needs of the local, rural Latino population. The Family Nurse Practitioner Residency program is in its third year and accepts two residents a year. Sea Mar has met one of its goals, of training and retaining highly skilled family NPs to provide service within the local community. In 2020, the residency will be expanding to four residents per year, with a second primary site in Everett.
