This is a time of transitions. Summer is waning. Leaves have begun their shift from hues of green to the vibrancy of fall. Program Directors are welcoming new trainees while celebrating the accomplishments of departing trainees. New trainees are learning about their local communities; mastering their new EMRs; acclimating to various clinics. New graduates have embarked upon their careers with confidence and competence as high performance providers.
For new trainees, may this year of intensive training confirm your personal commitment to healthcare and hone your professional skills to a razor-sharp edge. For new grads, hopefully your celebrations of graduation were triumphant, and perhaps a touch bittersweet. For the preceptors, program directors, support staff and all those who make these training programs possible, may you witness the incredible impact of your dedication, talent, wisdom and insight. Collectively, as a community of educators and change agents, NP postgraduate training programs are making a difference at every level.
Together, let’s celebrate the next generation of leaders in healthcare – nurse practitioners who are skilled interprofessional healthcare providers, multi-faceted and multi-talented individuals. They are practitioners who provide high quality healthcare that integrates competence, confidence and compassion.
